Continuant amb la lectura del primer cap\u00edtol de The Art of Community<\/a> de Jono Bacon m’he trobat la seg\u00fcent perla que copie en versi\u00f3 de traducci\u00f3 lliure i versi\u00f3 original. Crec que descriu molt b\u00e9 els temps que estem vivint en aquesta comunitat valenciana en relaci\u00f3 als seus l\u00edders.<\/p>\n

La confian\u00e7a ho \u00e9s tot
\nAl cor d’aquesta habilitaci\u00f3 \u00e9s la confian\u00e7a. Com ja hem comentat, la comunitat \u00e9s fonamental en una economia social, i els seus participants acumulen capital social gr\u00e0cies a les seues contribucions. Si \u00e9s el capital social, per la seua naturalesa, un producte de la interacci\u00f3 social, la confian\u00e7a \u00e9s fonamental. Si la gent en una comunitat no confia en tu, ser\u00e0s rebut amb prud\u00e8ncia i haur\u00e0s de lluitar per construir el teu capital social.
\nPer als l\u00edders comunitaris i gestors, la confian\u00e7a \u00e9s un component cr\u00edtic en l’obtenci\u00f3 del suport i la confian\u00e7a dels membres de la seua comunitat.<\/strong> Anteriorment, hem explorat l’exemple de Barack Obama fent un pas endavant per entusiasmar a una naci\u00f3 en temps turbulents. Part de la ra\u00f3 per la qual els temps eren turbulents va ser una important manca de confian\u00e7a en el president George W. Bush. Quan la confian\u00e7a s’esvaeix, les paraules i les promeses perden el seu significat.<\/strong> Quan la confian\u00e7a est\u00e0 present, les paraules i les promeses prosperen en un m\u00f3n on tenen un prop\u00f2sit i un potencial.
\nConfian\u00e7a, per\u00f2, no \u00e9s una cosa que pots aprendre. Tu ets de confian\u00e7a o no ho ets. Com el meu sogre, va dir a la meua fam\u00edlia una nit durant el sopar, \u00abViu la teua vida amb honestedat, si no, sempre recordar\u00e0s que no eres tu mateix.\u00bb Les seues paraules ensenyen una lli\u00e7\u00f3 important: quan la confian\u00e7a \u00e9s impl\u00edcita en cada pas que dones, sempre pots tenir confian\u00e7a en la transpar\u00e8ncia i l’obertura de les teues accions. Aquest \u00e9s l’aspecte m\u00e9s important del lideratge de la comunitat, i de la vida mateixa.<\/p>\n

Trust Is Everything
\nAt the heart of this enablement is trust. As we have already discussed, community is fundamentally a social economy, and its participants build up social capital via their contributions. With social capital being, by its very nature, a product of social interaction, trust is critical. If people in a community don\u2019t trust you, you will be met with caution and you will struggle to build your social capital.
\nFor community leaders and managers, trust is a critical component in gaining the support and confidence of your community members.<\/strong> Earlier, we explored the example of Barack Obama stepping forward to enthuse a nation in turbulent times. Part of the reason why those times were turbulent was a significant lack of trust in President George W. Bush. When trust vanishes, words and promises lose their meaning.<\/strong> When trust is present, words and promises flourish in a world where they have purpose and potential.
\nTrust, though, is not something you can learn. You are either trusted or you are not. As my father-in-law said to my family one evening over dinner, \u201cLive your life honestly\u2014if you don\u2019t, you always have to remember to not be yourself.\u201d His words teach an important lesson: when trust is implicit in every step you take, you can always be confident in the transparency and openness of your actions. This is the most important aspect of community leadership, and of life itself.<\/p>\n
